Here's a short article on the Stock Center's new home at Cornell University. The write up mainly talks about the living collection of ~300 species of Drosophila from all over the world. Our mission is to provide Drosophila cultures to researchers working on all aspects of Drosophila biology, from genetics and development to ecology and behavior. | The stock center also includes a large reference collection of nearly 700 pinned drosophilid species and a slide collection of nearly 3000 mounted wings, forelegs, genitalia, and polytene chromosomes. There are also a large number of frozen and alcohol-preserved material suitable for DNA sequencing. We're currently working on a catalog and database of all these resources that the community can access. |  |
