2007-2010
These files have been uploaded into Figshare and will soon include short descriptions here....
2006
Darwin Day Celebration, University of California, Berkeley. From Galapagos to the Genome.
Bay Area Biosystematists, University of California, Davis. A talk about genome evolution in Drosophila.
Society for Molecular Biology and Evolution Meeting, Phoenix. Phylogenetics and genomics of Drosophilidae, with some data on transposons in the Drosophila grimshawi (and other Hawaiian species) genomes
University of California, Davis. Talk on genomics, phylogenetics and Hawaiian Diptera.
Dolis. Early preliminary data on Hawaiian Campsicnemus phylogeny. I'm not sure where this was presented or by who.

2005
University of California, Berkeley. Second job talk at Berkeley, four years after the first.
FIBER Retreat, Portal. Early summary of screen for Wolbachia in Hawaiian Drosophila. Also includes updates of high school modules designed by Gordon Bennett.
Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC. Invited talk to entomology group at the Smithsonian.
University of New Hampshire, Durham. Rick Lapoint invited me to give this talk while he was still an undergrad at UH and I was still at UVM. It's the first time I presented on other groups of Hawaiian Diptera.
University of California, Riverside. John Heraty invited me to give this talk. This talk was also on the Hawaiian Diptera project.

2004
University of Vermont, EPSCOR Group, Burlington. Short presentation outlining using barcoding techniques to evaluate stream invertebrate diversity in Vermont
Johnson State College, Johnson. Invited talk on phylogeny, biogeography and conservation of Hawaiian Drosophila.

2003
University of Vermont, Ecolunch, Burlington. This includes major updates on the Drosophila synteny work (Schaeffer et al. 2008)
American Museum of Natural History, New York. This is the final talk I gave at AMNH. It includes updates on my Hawaiian Drosophila research at the time, as well as the Drosophilidae phylogeny work. It also mentions some aquatic insect work that I planned to do while an Assistant Professor at the University of Vermont.
University of Vermont, Burlington. This is my job talk at UVM.
Entomological Society of America, Cincinnati. This is a talk about shallow genomic approaches in insect phylogenetics.
Harvard University, Cambridge. My former MS student Martine Zilversmit invited me up to give a talk. I was hosted by Dan Hartl's lab and got to meet lots of great folks, including Rob Kulathinal.

2002
International Congress of Dipterology, Brisbane. I was invited to give this talk by Brian Wiegmann and Rudy Meier. This was a great opportunity to give an update on my progress on the phylogeny of Drosophilidae and visit Australia for the first time. I made some collections with Shane McEvey in the hills surrounding Brisbane.
Evolution Meetings, Champaign-Urbana. A 15 minute talk on shallow genomics in Drosophilidae.
Stanford University, Palo Alto. This meeting was organized by Peter Vitousek and brought together researchers working on various plant and animal groups to discuss timing of colonizations and how this might relate to the geology of the Hawaiian Islands. This was stimulated by Jon Price and David Clague's paper on the Hawaiian Islands.

2001
American Museum of Natural History, New York. This was a lab meeting I gave outlining the protocols for an NSF grant that Rob DeSalle and I were awarded.
University of California, Berkeley. This is a job talk that I gave in the spring. I didn't get the position but it was a great experience and I met a lot of wonderful people.
